Washing Lines Banned by Council!

I couldn't quite believe this when I read it. Croydon council have apparently banned rotary washing lines. They say that they are unsightly and are a health and safety risk. Well this article goes back a couple of years now so I thought I'd get an update from the council. I rang and eventually got through to the PR department who professed to know nothing about it! Storm in a tea-cup eh?

But that's not the case elsewhere. It's a big issue in the United States where line drying your clothes is considered an eyesore and is banned in some states. So much so, that there has been a film made about the issue. Have a look at their website for more details - www.dryingforfreedom.com
