How to Tighten the Lines on a Rotary Washing Line

Becky from the Home Laundry Company talks about line tension on a Rotary Washing Line and shares her top tips for getting your lines nice and taught.

The line on a Rotary can sometimes become very slack. You can easily fix this problem in just a few simple steps...

Step One

Firstly lock the arms into position by splaying the arms away from the centre pole and locking them into place (as you can see, the lines on my Rotary Airer are very uneven!)

Step One

Step Two

Next, you need to redistribute the lines evenly throughout the length of the arms, as I am demonstrating in the pictures below. Starting with the line closet to the centre pole in between two of the arms of the product, slightly pull it towards yourself and repeat for every line moving upwards, so that each line has an even amount of slack.

Step Three

Once you have reached the outermost line, push the central plastic collar into a higher position.

Step Four

Repeat the process until you are happy with the tension of product.
